Monday, September 25, 2017 - Evening Weather Discussion

Nice through Friday, then watching the Gulf of Mexico...

Highs of 93 degrees yesterday and 92 degrees today at my weather station in Allamuchy, Warren County, NJ. Unbelievable!

It will be nice through Friday as Hurricane Maria approaches Cape Hatteras, NC, but will then be pushed out to sea by an approaching cold front. There will be just a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm Wednesday as the cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70’s along the coast and on Long Island, and in the 80’s inland tomorrow, the upper 70’s to low 80’s along the coast and on Long island and in the mid 80’s to low 90’s inland Wednesday, dropping to the upper 60’s to low 70’s in Northeastern PA and the upper 70’s to low 80’s in Central NJ Thursday, and the mid 60’s to mid 70’s Friday.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Sunday through next Saturday then look nice with highs in the 60’s next Sunday, the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Monday through Wednesday, rising to the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Thursday through Saturday.

Next Sunday is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to low 70’s.

Next weekend a tropical system may move through the Caribbean Sea, south of Cuba, making it into the Gulf of Mexico. It is still too early to tell where it will go after that, but it looks as if it may be a threat to the Gulf Coast anywhere from Louisiana to Florida.

Have a wonderful evening!
