The United States Must Now Watch Irma Very Closely…

The United States of America must now watch Hurricane Irma very closely as she will approach the Bahamas Saturday, then turn northward, making landfall near Wilmington, NC, according to the latest data. Irma has just been upgraded to major hurricane status again as a category 3 storm and will approach the Bahamas Saturday as a category 3-5 storm and could eventually approach the United States as a category 3-5 storm as well. We are still up to eight days away from landfall, so the track of Irma could still change quite a bit from a landfall in Florida, to Irma turning northeastward and heading harmlessly out to sea. The most dangerous scenario right now would be the one depicted by the American model which has one of the most intense storms I have ever seen, making landfall at Wilmington, NC. The European model also has landfall near Wilmington, NC Monday, but with a more realistic strength storm.
