Thursday, September 1, 2017 - Evening Weather Discussion

Remnants of Harvey tomorrow and then watching Irma…

We will have increasing cloudiness tomorrow morning with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon or evening as the remnants of Harvey approach our area. Highs will be in the upper 50’s and 60’s.

Sunday, we will have a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the morning, followed by clearing as the remnants of Harvey depart our area. Highs will range from the mid to upper 60’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 70’s in Central NJ and NYC.

Labor Day and Tuesday will then be nice with highs in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s Labor Day and the 80’s Tuesday.

Wednesday into early Thursday we will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms, possibly heavy at times, as moisture from the Gulf of Mexico streams into our area ahead of an approaching cold front. Highs will be in the 60’s to mid 70’s Wednesday and the 60’s to low 70’s Thursday.

Next Saturday major hurricane Irma will likely be approaching the Bahamas. It is still too early to tell the exact track of Irma but the most likely track of Irma will be to the Bahamas and then northward along the East Coast. At the moment, it does appear that Irma will be a category 4 or 5 storm at that time. Let’s just hope that Irma heads out to sea.

Next Friday through Monday then look nice with highs in the upper 60’s to upper 70’s Friday, the mid 60’s to low 70’s Saturday, the upper 60’s to low 70’s Sunday, and the low to mid 70’s next Monday.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a chance of showers or thunderstorms as Irma, or the remnants of Irma pass through our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Tuesday and the low to mid 70’s next Wednesday.

Next Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the remnants of Irma exit our area. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
