Wednesday, September 20, 2017 - Morning Weather Discussion

Jose departs, now watching Maria…

Maria is currently making landfall on Eastern Puerto Rico as a strong category 4 storm, and possibly the strongest hurricane to ever make landfall on Puerto Rico. The damage will be quite substantial.

Jose will depart our area this morning, clearing things out and giving us nice weather, possibly through next Wednesday as Jose may remain out to sea. It will be unusually warm for the end of summer and the start of autumn, with highs in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s today, the upper 70’s to mid 80’s tomorrow, the mid 70’s to low 80’s Friday, the upper 70’s to mid 80’s Saturday, the mid 80’s to low 90’s Sunday and Monday, the 80’s Tuesday, and the mid 70’s to mid 80’s next Wednesday.

Next Thursday we will have to wait and see how close Maria comes to our area. Right now it appears that Maria may come close enough to our area to bring us a chance of some showers and thunderstorms and possibly some wind. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Next Friday through Tuesday then look nice with temperatures dropping to more normal levels for this time of year. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s next Friday, the 60’s next Saturday and Sunday, and the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Monday and Tuesday.

Have a fantastic day!
