Thursday, October 5, 2017 - Morning Weather Discussion

A hurricane may form in the Gulf of Mexico…

It will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm through Sunday. It will be warm with highs in the mid 70’s to low 80’s today, the upper 60’s on Eastern Long Island and the 70’s elsewhere tomorrow, and the 70’s to low 80’s Saturday and Sunday.

A tropical system is currently developing along the coast of Nicaragua and will move northward into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. The storm will strengthen as it moves northward, becoming Tropical Storm and then possibly Hurricane Nate as it moves through the Caribbean Sea and then the Gulf of Mexico. As of this moment it appears that Nate will make landfall Sunday somewhere between the Louisiana Gulf Coast and the Florida Panhandle.

Monday through early Wednesday morning we will have a chance of showers or thunderstorms as the remnants of Nate pass through our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s Monday and Tuesday, dropping to the upper 50’s to low 60’s after the remnants of Nate depart our area.

Next Thursday through Sunday then look nice with highs rising from the upper 50’s to mid 60’s next Thursday, to the low to mid 60’s next Friday, the mid 60’s next Saturday, and the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Sunday.

Next Monday into Tuesday morning will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to low 70’s next Monday and the mid to upper 60’s next Tuesday.

Next Wednesday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 60’s.

Have a fantastic day!
