Chances for an East Coast Snowstorm Just Increased for Saturday

The very latest data is starting to increase the chances for an East Snowstorm Saturday as a low pressure system that will be dropping down from Canada appears to be coming in much stronger on the latest data. This often happens as pieces of energy from these types of systems gets sampled better after going onshore from the ocean where the data can be sampled better, rather than over the ocean where obviously there is minimal data for the models.

With the stronger low pressure area dropping down from Canada, this storm would be able to combine with an area of low pressure over the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, then strengthen as it moves up the East Coast on Saturday, bringing a threat of heavy snow from parts of  North Carolina to Maine.

We will however have to wait and see how the rest of the data comes in this afternoon before getting too excited.

Be sure to check back for updates later today...
