Monday, December 4, 2017 - Morning Weather Discussion

Winter is starting early this year…

We will have an early start to winter this year with a 75% chance of accumulating snow sometime between Friday and the following week…

It will be nice today with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Tomorrow, warm air and moisture will stream into our area ahead of an approaching cold front, causing rain to develop in the late morning and afternoon, and continuing through the night. Highs will be in the 50’s to low 60’s.

Wednesday through Friday will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Wednesday and Thursday, and the 30’s Friday.

Saturday there will be a slight chance of snow, especially along the coast and on Long Island, as a storm system will develop along the stalled-out cold front well off the coast. At the moment, it appears as if the storm will be just far enough off the coast to keep most of us dry, with coastal locations and especially Eastern Long Island having a bit better chance of seeing some snow.  Highs will be in the low to mid 30’s.

Sunday then looks variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower at night as a some Lake Effect moisture may make it into our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Monday will be variably cloudy and there will be a chance of snow developing at night as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Tuesday there will be a chance of snow as the disturbance may develop into a Nor’easter off the New Jersey Coast. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Next Wednesday through Saturday then look variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower each day. It will be cold, with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Wednesday, the 20’s to low 30’s next Thursday, and the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Friday through Sunday.

Have a fantastic day!
