Sunday, March 18, 2018 - Morning Weather Discussion

Watching Tuesday/Wednesday and Saturday Night into Sunday morning…

Today and tomorrow will be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tuesday and Wednesday two separate disturbances will pass south of our area, giving us cloudy skies and a slight chance for snow. The various model data handles the Polar Vortex sitting over Southeastern Canada differently. The Polar Vortex sitting so close by is what is supplying the unusually cold air into our area for this time of year. It is also the thing that could push this storm south of our area. However, if the Polar Vortex pushes further north it will allow the storm to move further north as well, which would in turn bring a greater chance for the snow to make it into our area with the two waves.

The best chance for snow, the way it looks right now, will be from Eastern West Virginia through Northern Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and through Southern NJ.  I will however continue to monitor this situation closely.

Highs Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Thursday and Friday both then look nice with highs in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Saturday clouds will increase with a chance of snow developing at night and continuing into Sunday morning as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s Saturday and the mid to upper 30’s Sunday.

Next Monday through Thursday will then be nice with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Monday, and the 40’s to low 50’s next Tuesday through Thursday.

Next Friday looks variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 50’s.

Next Saturday then looks nice with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Have a fantastic day!
