Latest Snowfall Maps for the Weekend from the Medium-Range American Models

The supposedly newly upgraded and improved medium-range American model that they are running in test mode continues to suggest a significant snowstorm for our entire area this weekend, while the current version of the American model and every other major global model suggests this storm will scoot mainly to our south, possibly brushing our area just a bit of snow. So, the question is, is the new model that they are hoping to implement the only one that is correct, or is the new model with the supposed improvements actually performing worse than the old model? Time will tell...

Below is the test version of the medium-range American model that they are hoping to implement later this year... Click on the image to zoom in. Image courtesy tropicaltidbits.com.

The moral to the story is that there is definitely a chance of some snow this weekend in our area, but we will have to wait and see. Please join me a bit later for the Look at the Next 2 Weeks and Morning Weather Discussion.
