Tomorrow will be another very nice day with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s.
Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of an afternoon or evening snow shower or flurry as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
Thursday, clouds will increase with light snow developing in the late afternoon and evening from west to east across our area as a disturbance approaches from west. The light snow will change to light rain late at night in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island as some warm air works in off the ocean. Highs will be at night at midnight and will range from the mid to upper 20’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 30’s to low 40’s along the NJ and Long Island Coasts.
Friday the light rain and light snow will end early in the morning, followed by clearing as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.
Total possible snowfall accumulations:
A Trace to a Coating: Central NJ, NYC, and Long Island
A Coating to an inch or Two: Northeastern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY and Fairfield County, CT
1-3 inches: East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY
Saturday, clouds will increase in the morning with snow developing in the afternoon and early evening from west to east across our area, possibly heavy at times as a strong storm system approaches and then passes through our area. The snow may then change to heavy freezing rain and sleet in inland locations and possibly New York City, with heavy icing possible Saturday night into Sunday morning. The freezing rain and sleet could change to rain near the coast and on Long Island Saturday night. There could be significant accumulations of snow throughout our area, with the potential of very significant snowfall amounts in Northeastern PA and Western Orange County, NY, and possibly extreme snowfall amounts in far Northern Northeastern PA. The precipitation should end as freezing rain and sleet Sunday afternoon from west to east. Highs will range from the low to mid 20’s in Northeastern PA to the low to mid 30’s along the NJ Coast.
Next Monday through Wednesday should then be nice with highs in the upper single digits and teens next Monday, the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Tuesday, and the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Wednesday.
Next Thursday through Sunday then look unsettled with a chance of rain or snow each day as a few disturbances pass through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s next Thursday, the upper 20’s and 30’s next Friday, the mid 20’s to mid 30’s next Saturday, and the upper teens to 20’s next Sunday.
Have a wonderful evening!
