Saturday, January 12, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

Significant snow for parts of the Middle Atlantic this weekend…

There will be a significant snowstorm for Northern Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and likely even into South Jersey this weekend as a storm system passes to our south. However, snowfall amounts will be much lighter as you head northward, and Southeastern NY State and Fairfield County, CT, may not even get a snowflake. Another disappointment for people hoping to see some snow…

Clouds will increase with a chance of light snow or flurries developing late at night from south to north as a storm system approaches from the west. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Tomorrow any light snow will end in the morning as the storm system heads eastward and out to sea. A trace to a coating of accumulation is possible in Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, NYC, and on Western Long Island, and a coating to an inch is possible in East Central PA and Central NJ. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Monday and Tuesday will be nice with highs in the 30’s Monday and the 30’s to low 40’s Tuesday.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower at night as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Thursday will then be nice with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.

Friday there will be a chance of rain or snow showers as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Saturday clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing as a storm system approaches our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Sunday there will be a chance of rain or snow as the storm system passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.

Next Monday through Wednesday will then be nice with highs in the mid teens to mid 20’s next Monday, the 20’s to low 30’s next Tuesday, and the mid 20’s to mid 30’s next Wednesday.

Next Thursday and Friday then look unsettled with a chance of rain or snow showers next Thursday and snow showers next Friday as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s next Thursday and the 20’s next Friday.

Have a fantastic day!
