Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower in Northeastern PA as a disturbance passes to our northwest. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 30’s to upper 40’s.

Monday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 20’s and 30’s.

Tuesday a disturbance will reach the Eastern Great Lakes, with a cold front extending southward from the disturbance to the Gulf of Mexico. A disturbance will develop along this front in the Southeastern United States, moving northeastward and reaching Northern Virginia by Tuesday afternoon, Long Island late Tuesday night, and Coastal Maine by Wednesday morning. This will cause snow to develop in the morning and early afternoon in Northeastern PA, light rain to develop in East Central PA, light rain or light snow to develop in the afternoon and evening in Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, and light rain to develop in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island. As the disturbance passes by our area Tuesday night it will drag the cold front with it, causing cold air to surge into our area. This will cause the precipitation to change to snow everywhere at night before ending in the early morning hours as temperatures will fall rapidly at night from highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s during the day. The snow could be heavy at times in Northeastern PA, ending late at night, with significant snowfall accumulations likely. Less significant snowfall accumulations are likely in East Central PA, West Central and Northwestern NJ, and Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, with light snowfall amounts possible in East Central NJ, Northeastern NJ, NYC, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY, on Long Island, and in Fairfield County, CT.

Wednesday through Friday will then be variably cloudy and very cold with a chance of a snow flurry each day. Temperatures will drop through the day Wednesday, with temperatures reaching from around zero in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper teens in Central NJ and on Long Island by evening. Lows Thursday morning will range from the mid teens below zero in the coldest locations in Northeastern PA to the mid single digits above zero in Coastal NJ and Eastern Long Island, and from around ten below zero in the coldest locations of Northeastern PA to the upper single digits above zero in Coastal NJ and on Eastern Long Island. Highs Thursday will range from around zero in Northeastern PA to the low teens in Central NJ and on Eastern Long Island, and from the low teens in Northeastern PA to the low 20’s in Central NJ.

Next Saturday through next Tuesday, February 5th, are then looking nice, with gradually warming temperatures. Highs will be in the upper teens to mid 20’s next Saturday, the 30’s next Sunday, February 3rd, the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Monday, February 4th, and the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Tuesday, February 5th.

Next Wednesday, February 6th, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Thursday, February 7th, and next Friday, February 8th are then looking nice with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s next Thursday and the 30’s next Friday.

Have a wonderful evening!
