Friday through Monday will be variably cloudy with a chance of snow showers in Northeastern PA Sunday night into Monday morning. Highs tomorrow will range from the low to mid 20’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 30’s in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island, from the low to mid 20’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 30’s in Central NJ Saturday, from the mid to upper 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 40’s in Central NJ Sunday, and from the teens in Northeastern PA to the mid 30’s in Central NJ Monday.
Late Monday night into Tuesday morning there will be a chance of snow in Northeastern PA and light snow elsewhere as a weak disturbance and warm front pass through our area. The disturbance may pass close enough to Northeastern PA to bring some snowfall accumulation, but the rest of our area should only get light snow accumulations late Monday night into Tuesday morning from the warm front. Highs Tuesday will range from the low 30’s in Northeastern PA the low to mid 40’s in Central NJ.
Things could get a bit interesting Tuesday night as a disturbance may develop along a cold front that will be trailing from the disturbance that passed through Northeastern PA early Tuesday. The disturbance may develop along the front in the Southern Appalachians, possibly even further south along the Gulf Coast near the Florida Panhandle. This disturbance will then ride the front northward. At the same time a disturbance off the Southeastern Coast of the United States may also move northward. The original disturbance that passed through Northeastern PA early Tuesday will be situated over New York State Tuesday night as the disturbance rides the front northward and the other disturbance approaches from off the Southeastern Coast of the United States. There is a chance that these three disturbances will combine to form one storm near Long Island Tuesday night. If this were to occur, the storm would strengthen rapidly, potentially becoming a strong Nor’easter. The storm would then rapidly move Northeastward, reaching the Maine Coast by Wednesday morning.
This would mean a chance of rain or snow Tuesday night, ending early Wednesday morning, followed by clearing. Highs Wednesday will range from the mid to upper single digits in Northeastern PA to around 20 in Central NJ and on Long Island.
Next Thursday and Friday will then be nice but very cold, with lows once again below zero in Northeastern PA and the single digits in most other places, and highs in the single digits and teens, although there could be some low 20’s in Central NJ next Friday.
Next Saturday a disturbance may develop in the Southeastern United States, then turn northward up the East Coast of the United States. It is still to early to tell though whether this disturbance would come close enough to affect our area. This leaves us with a slight chance of snow Saturday. Highs will be in the mid teens to mid 20’s.
Next Sunday through Tuesday are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of snow showers next Sunday and rain or snow showers next Monday and Tuesday as a couple of disturbances may pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Sunday, the upper 20’s to mid 30’s next Monday, and the upper 20’s and 30’s next Tuesday.
Next Wednesday then looks nice with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.
Have a wonderful evening!
