Thursday, February 21, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

More unsettled weather ahead with STRONG WIND Sunday/Monday and then cold with a pattern change bringing chances for snow…

The storm yesterday didn’t produce quite as much snow as expected with about 1.5-3 inches in most places, with the higher totals in East Central and Southeastern PA and in Southern NJ.  There was however significant icing in many places.

Today and tomorrow will be nice with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s today and the mid 30’s to mid 40’s tomorrow.

Saturday clouds will increase with rain developing at night, possibly starting as a brief period of snow in parts of East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County, CT, as a strong disturbance approaches from the west.  Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Sunday there will be rain, heavy at times in the morning, followed by gradual clearing from west to east. It will then become very windy, with gusts of up to 55 mph possible. Highs will range from the mid 40’s to low 50’s in Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State and Fairfield County, CT, to the upper 50’s to low 60’s in Southeastern PA and Central NJ.

Monday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry. It will also be very windy, with gusts of up to 60 mph possible.  Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tuesday will be nice with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Wednesday there will be a chance of snow as a couple of disturbances approach our area, one from the west and one from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.

Next Thursday will then be nice with highs in the 30’s.

Next Friday clouds will increase with a chance of snow developing as a disturbance may approach from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Next Saturday there will be a chance of snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Next Sunday will be nice with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.

Next Monday is looking variably cloudy with a slight chance of snow as another disturbance may approach from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday will then be nice with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s next Tuesday and the 30’s next Wednesday.
