Below is a beautiful photo of the moon taken in Oradell, Bergen County, NJ, submitted by Brandon Schmidt.  Thanks for sharing with us Brandon!

The evolution of this storm will be slightly different from the prior storms. The big difference this time is that the cold high-pressure area will be situated right over us this time at the start, rather than over Quebec, Canada. So, there will be a deeper layer of cold air that will persist into tomorrow night in our area, rather than a quick overrunning of warm air. The high will slide eastward and away from our area at night, allowing the warm air to move into our area, resulting in a gradually change to sleet, then freezing rain, and then rain in most of our area, but with freezing rain possibly persisting to the end in parts of Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Southeastern NY State.

First though, today will be nice with highs in the 30’s.

Tomorrow, clouds will increase as a strong disturbance approaches our area, with snow developing between about 8-9 am in East Central PA and 12-1 pm on Eastern Long Island, gradually changing to sleet, then freezing rain, and then rain at night, except possibly remaining freezing rain in parts of Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Southeastern NY State. Lows in the mid teens to mid 20’s, highs in the upper 20’s and 30’s at night.

Total possible snow accumulation:

One to three inches possible:  far Northern Northeast PA, far Southern NJ, Southeastern NY State, Eastern Long Island, and Fairfield County, CT

Two to five inches possible:  all of Eastern PA except far northern Northeast PA, all of NJ except far Southern NJ, NYC, and Western Long Island

Significant ice is possible in all of Eastern PA, all of Western and Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT

Thursday, rain and some freezing rain will end early in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Friday will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Saturday clouds will increase with snow, sleet, freezing rain developing, changing to rain, as a strong disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Sunday the rain will end in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Monday will then be nice with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Tuesday, February 26th, clouds will increase with snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain developing at night as another strong disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Next Wednesday, February 27th, rain and possibly some freezing rain will end in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Next Thursday, February 28th, will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Friday, March 1st, will be variably cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Saturday, March 2nd, through next Monday March 4th, are then looking nice with highs in the 30’s next Saturday and Sunday and the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Monday.

Have a fantastic day!
