Today will be variably cloudy with highs in the 40’s.
A strong disturbance will then approach from the west tonight, causing snow to develop in East Central PA between about 1-2 am, in Northeastern PA between about 2-3 am, rain developing in Central NJ between about 2-3 am, snow developing in Northern NJ between about 2-3 am, snow developing in Southeastern NY State between about 3-4 am, mixed precipitation developing in NYC and on Western Long Island between about 3-4 am, snow developing in Fairfield County, CT, between about 4-5 am and mixed precipitation developing on Eastern Long Island between about 4-5 am, gradually changing to rain everywhere by 11 am from southwest to northeast. There could be some freezing rain in parts of Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Southeastern NY State. The rain will then end in the late morning and early afternoon, followed by clearing. Lows will be in the upper 20’s and 30’s with highs from the low to mid 40’s in Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, to the mid 50’s to low 60’s in Central NJ.
Below is a map of possible snowfall accumulation prior to changing to rain...
Monday and Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower or flurry Monday night into Tuesday morning as a cold front passes through our area. Warm air will surge northward into our area Monday ahead of the cold front, with highs reaching from the low to mid 40’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 50’s in Central NJ, dropping to the 30’s to low 40’s Tuesday, behind the cold front.
Wednesday will then be nice with highs in the 40’s.
Thursday clouds will increase with a chance of a shower developing in the afternoon or evening as a cold front approaches our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.
Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.
Next Saturday through Monday will then be nice with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Saturday, the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Sunday, and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Monday.
Next Tuesday there is a chance that things may start getting interesting as a disturbance may develop in the Gulf of Mexico or off the Southeastern Coast of the United States at the same time that a disturbance drops down from Canada, through the Great Lakes States, and into the Middle Atlantic Area. There is a chance that these two disturbance will combine to form a Nor’easter near the Middle Atlantic Coast next Tuesday night. If this were to occur, it would cause rain or snow to develop next Tuesday night, going into Wednesday. Highs look to be in the 40’s, however if a Nor’easter does develop the temperatures could be significantly colder.
Next Thursday and Friday will then be nice with highs in the 40’s.
Have a fantastic day!
