There is a marginal to enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms throughout our area today. Click here to view the convective outlook for today from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Storm Prediction Center.
The unbelievable and all-time record-breaking heat for the month of May will continue in the Southeastern United States through Thursday, before a cold front finally reaches at least part of this area. Highs will reach 100 degrees and could reach 105 degrees in areas from Northern Florida through North Carolina.
In our area, the stationary front that has been in our area all spring, will keep us from the severe heat, but will instead bring us continuous chances for showers and thunderstorms, as one disturbance after the other passes along the front and through our area.
Today showers will develop this morning and then showers or thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon or evening, as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs today will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.
Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower in the morning and then showers or thunderstorms will be likely in the afternoon and evening as another disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s along the coast and the 70’s inland, with some low 80’s possible in West Central NJ.
Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening as another disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.
Friday and Saturday will be variably cloudy with just a slight chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the 70’s Friday and the upper 60’s to mid 70’s Saturday.
Sunday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening, as another disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.
Monday is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of showers, especially in the morning, as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the 60’s.
Next Tuesday, June 4th, is then actually looking nice for a change, as the stationary front may leave us alone for a day. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.
Next Wednesday, June 5th, through next 10th, are looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as the stationary front may return to our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s next Wednesday and Thursday, the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Friday and Saturday, the upper 60’s and 70’s next Sunday, and the 70’s next Monday.
Have a fantastic day!
