Tuesday, June 18, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

Flash flooding is likely in parts of our area today, with more rain likely tomorrow and Thursday, then windy Friday…

A strong disturbance is passing right through our area today, bringing heavy rain, with 1-4 inches of rain possible in parts of our area. There will likely be flash flooding in any areas that the receive the heaviest rain. It currently appears that the areas most likely to receive the heavy rain will be East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT. The heaviest rain will be in the late morning to early afternoon in East Central and Northeastern PA, in the afternoon in Northern NJ and Southeastern NY State, and in the late afternoon to early evening in Fairfield County, CT. There will also be a chance of a thunderstorm and it will be breezy this afternoon, with gusts up to 35 mph possible in parts of our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s.

Tomorrow and Thursday there will be a continued chance for showers or thunderstorms as more disturbances pass through our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s tomorrow and in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s Thursday.

Friday there will be a slight chance of a shower early in the morning, then it will be mostly sunny, but it will be windy, with gusts up to 50 mph possible.

Saturday will then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm at night. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Sunday is then looking nice with highs in the 70’s.

Monday and next Tuesday, June 25th, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms Monday night and a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm next Tuesday. Highs will be in the 70’s to low 80’s Monday and the mid 70’s to mid 80’s next Tuesday.

Next Wednesday, June 26th, and next Thursday, June 27th, are looking nice with highs in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Next Friday, June 28th, and next Saturday, June 29th, look to be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s next Friday and the mid 70’s to low 80’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday, June 30th, and next Monday, July 1st, are then looking nice with highs in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.
