HURRICANE DORIAN LIKELY TO PRODUCE MAJOR TO SEVERE DAMAGE ALONG THE CENTRAL FLORIDA EAST COAST!

Today will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm this afternoon or evening as a weak cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to low 80’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 80’s in Central and Northeastern NJ.

Tomorrow will be nice with highs in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

This weekend Hurricane Dorian will be approaching the East Coast of Florida, possibly as a major hurricane. Right now, the best guess is that Hurricane Dorian will strengthen to a category 4 storm prior to making landfall somewhere near West Palm Beach, Florida, Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Dorian may stall for 12 hours or so off the Central Florida East Coast prior to making landfall, which would cause severe coastal flooding is some parts of Coastal Central Florida, likely between about West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie. After making landfall, Dorian will then likely turn north, reaching a point near Orlando, Florida by late Tuesday night into early Wednesday, and then to near Jacksonville, Florida by Wednesday night. This track would produce severe damage to parts of the Central Florida East Coast.  Anyone with interests along the East Coast of Florida will want to keep a very close eye on Dorian. Tuesday will then be nice with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Thursday will then be nice with highs in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Next Friday, September 6th, and next Saturday, September 7th, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the remnants of Hurricane Dorian may reach our area. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Next Sunday, September 8th, and next Monday, September 9th, are then looking nice with highs in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Sunday and the 70’s next Monday.
