Wednesday, August 28, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

Erin will depart our area tonight and then Dorian will approach the Florida East Coast Sunday…

There will be a chance of showers tonight as Tropical Depression Erin approaches from off the Coast and a cold front approaches from the west.

Tomorrow will then be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Friday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a weak cold front approaches from the north. Highs will be in the 80’s, with some low 90’s possible in parts of Central NJ.

Saturday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

This weekend Hurricane Dorian will likely make landfall along the Florida East Coast, possibly as a major hurricane. Anyone with interests along the Florida East Coast should keep a close eye on Dorian. Right now the best guess for landfall would be near West Palm Beach, Florida, Sunday night. There is then a chance that Dorian could make it into the Gulf of Mexico and re-develop, threatening the Northeast Gulf Coast with a second landfall. Sunday, clouds will increase with a chance of showers or thunderstorms developing as a disturbance and cold front approach from the west. Highs will be in the 70’s to low 80’s.

Monday (Labor Day), there will be a chance of showers or thunderstorms as the disturbance and cold front pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Tuesday will then be nice with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Next Wednesday, September 4th, will be variably cloudy with chance of a shower or thunderstorm, as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 80’s to low 90’s.

Next Thursday, September 5th, and next Friday, September 6th, are then looking variably cloudy with increasing chances for a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front and the remnants of Hurricane Dorian may approach our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s next Thursday and the 70’s next Friday.

Next Saturday, September 7th, through next Monday, September 9th, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as the remnants of Hurricane Dorian and a cold front may slowly pass through our area. Highs will be in the 70’s next Saturday, the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Sunday, and the low to mid 70’s next Monday.

Next Tuesday, September 10th, is then looking nice with highs in the mid to upper 70’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
