The latest data is indicating that Hurricane Dorian will be coming closer to the entire East Coast, coming within about 50 miles of making landfall on the Florida East Coast, then turning north near Jupiter, Florida, then coming very close to Charleston and Myrtle Beach, SC, Thursday, then turning northeast, possibly making landfall near Morehead City, NC in far Eastern North Carolina, and then continuing northeast, to a point about 100 mph southeast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts by early Saturday morning.
This track would mean some severe coastal flooding in many locations of the Southeastern United States, and some coastal flooding likely further north along the entire East Coast.
This closer to the coast track would bring some rain to Central NJ Thursday and to our entire area Friday, with winds on Friday of 20-30 mph inland and 30-40 mph along the coast and on Long Island, with gusts of up to 50 mph possible on far Eastern Long Island.
