Well, the first half of this forecast is all about Hurricane Dorian. Hurricane Dorian is currently a category 5 storm and is one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean. Dorian is moving through the Northern Bahamas right now and will reach a point about 50 miles east of Florida by tomorrow night. At that time it will start moving north, reaching a point about 30 miles off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina by Thursday afternoon and evening, then turning northeast and possibly making landfall near Morehead City, NC in Eastern North Carolina late Thursday night and early Friday morning, then continuing northeast and reaching a point about 100 miles southeast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, by early Saturday morning. This evening into early tomorrow will be variably cloudy with showers developing late tomorrow morning and through tomorrow afternoon. There could also be some thunderstorms, and some of the storms could be severe, as a cold front passes through our area. Highs tomorrow will range from the low 70’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 80’s in West Central NJ.
Tuesday will be variably cloudy with just a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.
Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a bit better chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will range from the upper 70’s to low 80’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 80’s to low 90’s in Central NJ.
Thursday, clouds will increase with rain developing from south to north across our area as Hurricane Dorian approaches from the south. Highs will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s.
Friday there will be a chance of rain, with some clearing from west to east across our area at night as Hurricane Dorian passes to the east. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.
Saturday through next Monday, September 9th, will then be nice with highs in the 70’s Saturday, the mid 60’s to mid 70’s next Sunday, and the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Monday.
Next Tuesday, September 10th, through next Saturday, September 14th, will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s next Tuesday, the upper 60’s and 70’s next Wednesday, the 70’s next Thursday and Friday, and the 70’s to low 80’s next Saturday.
