Thursday, October 31, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

Rain today, possibly some breaks in parts of our area this evening and then strong winds and severe thunderstorms possible tonight…

A strong cold front is approaching from the west and will cause heavy rain and strong wind in much of our area today and especially tonight. Some breaks in the rain will be likely in parts of our area this evening, especially in Central and Northeastern NJ, NYC, Fairfield County, CT, and on Long Island, then a chance of showers and possibly thunderstorms late tonight. Some of the storms could be severe. Click here for the latest convective outlook from the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center. Total rainfall amounts ranging from around a half of an inch along the NJ Coast and on Central and Eastern Long Island, to 1.5-2.5 inches in parts of East Central and Northeastern PA. It will be windy, with gusts of 25-45 mph likely during the day, and up to 65 mph in places at night, except for up to 75 mph possible on Long Island. At least it will be warm, with highs in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.

Saturday will then be quite nice, but cool, with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow flurry or snow shower in Northeastern PA as some Lake Effect moisture could reach that area. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Monday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as a cold front slowly approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to low 60’s.

Next Thursday, November 7th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower in Northeastern PA as some Lake Effect moisture could reach that area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Friday, November 8th and next Saturday, November 9th, will be variably cloudy with highs in the 40’s to low 50’s next Friday and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday, November 10th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower at night. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Next Monday, November 11th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of shower in the morning. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.
