Latest European Model Continues to Have Snow for Our Area Thursday Night into Friday Morning and Significant Amounts in Large Parts of Our Area...

The latest European model that just came out continues to have accumulating snow for a large part of our area and even significant amounts of snow in large parts of our area Thursday night into Friday morning. A disturbance will develop in the Tennessee River Valley Thursday and will then head northeastward, reaching a point near the NJ Coast Thursday night, strengthening as it does so. This will cause light rain to develop Thursday afternoon, changing to snow in large parts of our area at night, ending Friday morning, with flurries possible throughout our area Friday.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS STILL MORE THAN 4 DAYS AWAY AND THINGS CAN CHANGE DRAMATICALLY!

The European model snow map depicted below shows 2-5 inches in Northeastern PA, much of Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, with localized amounts of up to 6 inches possible, with an inch or two possible in East Central PA, a coating to an inch or two possible in the rest of Northern and especially Northeastern NJ, a coating to an inch possible in NYC and on Long Island, and a coating possible in parts of Central NJ.

AGAIN, THIS IS JUST WHAT THE MODEL IS CURRENTLY DEPICTING!  IT IS NOT MY CURRENT FORECAST!

However, the European model is by far the most accurate of models, and is the most likely model to be correct. No model is perfect however and this is just something that will be fun to keep an eye on over the next few days...
