A strong Nor’easter is passing well east of our area off the coast but is close enough to bring an onshore flow with some light rain and drizzle in parts of our area this morning. The temperatures are below freezing in some places, which will mean that the drizzle will freeze on contact in some locations. A disturbance will then move in behind the Nor’easter and through our area tonight, causing a steadier rain to develop this afternoon and tonight. The light rain could mix with or change to snow late at night in parts of Northeastern PA, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT. Highs today will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.
Tomorrow the light rain and any light snow will end early in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.
Wednesday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the 40’s to low 50’s.
Thursday clouds will increase in the afternoon with a chance of a shower at night as a cold front approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.
Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower in the morning, followed by clearing, as the cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s in the morning, dropping in the afternoon.
Saturday clouds will increase with a chance of showers in the afternoon and at night as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.
Sunday there will be a chance of a shower in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the 40’s.
