A strong cold front will pass through our area today, bringing some light rain that may mix with and possibly change to snow before ending this afternoon. The moisture with this storm is looking less and less impressive with each consecutive model run, so any snow accumulations should be very light, with only a trace to a half of an inch possible in most of our area, but with up to 2 inches possible in some of the higher elevations of Northeastern PA. It will also become windy, with gusts of 20-40 mph possible. Temperatures will be dropping to the upper 20’s to low 30’s in Northeastern PA by about 7 am, to the low to mid 30’s in East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, and Orange County, NY by about mid-morning, to the mid 30’s in Central NJ and Northeastern NJ, the rest of Southeastern NY State, NYC, Western Long Island, and Fairfield County, CT, by about noon, and on Eastern Long Island in the early afternoon.
Below are the latest snow maps from the European model and the short-range American model. Notice how the snow has become less and less on each consecutive model run, as less moisture is being forecast by the model after the front passes through and the cold air moves in. The short-range American model actually now shows no snow for most of us. Images courtesy WeatherBell Analytics. Click on the images to enlarge.

Sunday, clouds will increase, with a chance of a shower at night, as a storm approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.
Monday and next Tuesday, November 19th, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as another disturbance approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the 40’s Monday and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Tuesday.
