Strong thunderstorms in Parts of Northern NJ

There are currently strong thunderstorms moving through parts of Northern NJ, which is extremely unusual for this time of year and at these temperatures. This is caused by the rapid development of an area of low pressure over our area.

...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT PASSAIC...NORTHWESTERN
BERGEN...NORTHERN WESTCHESTER...SOUTHEASTERN ORANGE...WESTERN PUTNAM
AND ROCKLAND COUNTIES...

At 300 PM EST, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from near Highland Lake to Pompton Lakes.
Movement was northeast at 50 mph. More scattered thunderstorms were
developing behind this line as well.

Wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

These thunderstorms will move across parts of Northeast New Jersey
and the Lower Hudson Valley before 345 PM.

Locations impacted include...
Wayne, Newburgh, West Milford, Peekskill, Ramsey, Ringwood,
Haverstraw, Pompton Lakes, Suffern, Monroe, Warwick, Sloatsburg, Cold
Spring, Monsey and New City.
