Wednesday, December 11, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

Snow ending this morning and afternoon, heavy rain likely early Saturday, and then watching Monday night into Tuesday…

The snow will end this morning and afternoon from west to east across our area, with total accumulations of a half of an inch to 2.5 inches, except up to 4 inches possible in Fairfield County, CT, and on Central and especially Eastern Long Island. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with highs in the low to mid 30’s.

Friday clouds will increase with showers developing in Central NJ in the late morning and elsewhere in the afternoon and evening, and then rain developing at night as a strong storm system approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the upper 30’s and 40’s, except some low 50’s along the coast.

Saturday there will be rain, possibly heavy at times early in the morning, ending in the late afternoon and evening, then a chance of a sprinkle, shower, or flurry at night as a strong storm system passes through our area. There could be some flooding with rainfall amounts of 1-2.5 inches possible. Highs will be in the 50’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Monday a storm system will approach from the west, with a chance of rain or snow developing at night. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Tuesday there will be a chance of rain or snow ending in the morning, then clearing, with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Wednesday, December 18th, through next Saturday, December 21st, will then be nice with highs gradually rising from the upper 20’s to mid 30’s next Wednesday, to the low to mid 30’s next Thursday, the 30’s next Friday, and the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday, December 22nd, clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow showers at night as a disturbance approaches our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Monday, December 23rd, and next Tuesday, December 24th (Christmas Eve), are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Monday and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s Christmas Eve.
