Tuesday, January 21, 2020 - Evening Weather Discussion

Nice and gradually warming through Friday, a weekend storm, and then another storm possible next Thursday night and Friday…

Tomorrow through Friday will be mostly sunny, but with increasing cloudiness late on Friday as a strong disturbance approaches from the west. High temperatures will gradually warm from the mid 30’s to low 40’s tomorrow, to the low to mid 40’s Thursday, and the mid 40’s to low 50’s Friday.

Saturday, rain will develop from west to east across our area as the strong disturbance approaches from the west. The rain could start to change to snow in the evening in Northeastern PA, and in the rest of our area at night from west to east as the disturbance starts to re-develop near Southern NJ Saturday night, allowing some cold air to move into our area. Highs will range from the mid 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 40’s in East Central NJ.

Sunday, the precipitation will end in the morning, followed by clearing. Significant snowfall accumulation is likely in Northeastern PA and is possible into parts of East Central PA, Northern NJ (especially Northwestern NJ), Southeastern NY State, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT. Highs Sunday will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Monday through next Wednesday, January 29th, will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Monday, and the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Next Thursday, January 30th, clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing at night as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Friday, January 31st, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Next Saturday, February 1st, through next Monday, February 3rd, are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the 40’s next Saturday, and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday and Monday.

Have a wonderful evening!
