Tuesday, February 4, 2020 - Morning Weather Discussion

Ice possible in parts of our area Thursday morning, heavy, flooding rain Thursday night, very strong wind along the coast, and then watching Sunday…

There will be a chance of some light rain or showers today and tomorrow. It will be quite warm today with highs in the 50’s, dropping to the 30’s tomorrow as a cold front passes through our area.

Thursday, rain, freezing rain, and a bit of snow will develop in the morning, changing to rain, as a strong disturbance passes through our area. There could be a significant accumulation of ice in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT. Then there will be a chance of heavy rain at night. Some flooding will be possible. It could be very windy at night along the coast and on Eastern Long Island, with gusts of up to 70 mph possible. Highs will be in the upper 30’s and 40’s.

Friday the rain will end in the morning, then it will be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower. Some flooding will be possible with 1-4 inches of rain possible. It could be very windy early in the morning along the coast and on Eastern Long Island, with gusts up to 70 mph possible. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s in the morning, then dropping as a cold front passes through our area.

Saturday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the 30’s.

Sunday there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance may approach our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s, depending upon how this disturbance develops.

Monday and next Tuesday, February 11th are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Monday and the 40’s next Tuesday.

Next Wednesday, February 12th, through next Monday, February 17th, are looking a bit unsettled with a chance of a rain or snow shower each day. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Wednesday and Thursday, the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Friday, the 30’s to low 40’s next Saturday, the 30’s next Sunday, and the upper 30’s to mid 30’s next Monday.
