Saturday, March 21, 2020 - Weather Discussion

A Nor’easter to develop off the NJ Coast Monday night, bringing heavy rain and some snow to parts of our area…

It will be nice through tomorrow, but cooler tomorrow with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Monday rain and snow will develop throughout our area as a disturbance approaches from the west, developing into a Nor’easter off the NJ Coast. Significant snowfall is possible in Northeastern PA  and Northwestern Orange County, NY, prior to a change to rain, with light snowfall accumulation possible in East Central PA, Northern NJ (especially Northwestern NJ), the rest of Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, prior to a chance to rain. Mostly, if not all rain is expected in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island. The rainfall will be heavy at times, especially along the Coast and on Eastern Long Island, where up to 2 inches of rain is possible. It will be breezy, with gusts up to 40 mph possible. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tuesday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the 50’s.

Wednesday, another disturbance will approach our area from the west, turning into a Nor’easter off the NJ Coast at night. This will cause rain to develop in the morning, possibly gradually changing to snow late in the day in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT.  Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.

Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower at night as a cold front approaches our area. Highs will be in the low to mid 50’s.

Friday there will be a chance of a shower as the cold front departs but a disturbances approaches from the west. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Saturday, March 28th, there will be a chance of rain as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Sunday, March 29th, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the 50’s.

Next Monday, March 30th,  is currently looking mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 50’s.

Next Tuesday, March 31st, through next Friday, April 3rd, are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the low to mid 50’s next Tuesday, the 50’s next Wednesday, the low to mid 50’s next Thursday, and the 50’s next Friday.
