Saturday, April 11, 2020 - Evening Weather Discussion

VERY heavy rain and VERY strong wind likely Monday…

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a strong disturbance approaches from the west. Light rain will then develop at night. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Monday there will be rain, heavy at times, ending at night, as a strong disturbance passes to our north and through the Great Lakes area, followed by a strong cold front. Total rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches are possible, with the heaviest amounts likely in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, where some flooding will be likely. It will also be very windy with gusts of up to 70 mph possible inland and up to 80 mph possible near the coast and especially on Long Island. Some trees and limbs could fall with any of the very strong wind gusts, which could lead to power outages. Highs will be in the 60’s.
