Heavy rain and strong wind later today and tonight into early tomorrow could lead to flooding and power outages…

A strong disturbance is approaching from the west and will lead to heavy rain and strong wind later today and tonight into early tomorrow with some showers and possibly a thunderstorm. It will become windy, with gusts of 40-60 mph possible. The combination of heavy rain and strong wind will likely cause some trees and branches to fall, causing power outages in some locations. Highs today will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Tomorrow there will be showers and possibly a thunderstorm as the strong disturbance slowly departs our area. The rain could be heavy at times early in the morning. Total rainfall amounts will likely range from 1-4 inches throughout our area, with the heaviest rain likely to occur in Eastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT. The combination of heavy rain and strong wind will likely cause some trees and branches to fall, causing power outages in some locations in the early morning. Highs will be in the upper 50’s and 60’s.
