Thursday, April 9, 2020 - Morning Weather Discussion

Strong winds today/tomorrow, a blizzard in Maine, flurries possible tomorrow, heavy rain Monday, and rain and maybe snow Wednesday…

There will be light rain and drizzle this morning, a chance of a sprinkle, shower, or thunderstorm, this afternoon, and then a chance of a sprinkle or flurry tonight. It will also become windy this afternoon with gusts of up to 50 mph possible as a cold front passes through our area and a strong Nor’easter develops off the Maine coast, bringing them a blizzard. Highs will range from the low 50’s in Northeastern PA and on Eastern Long Island, to the low to mid 60’s in Central NJ.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers or sprinkles or flurries, and it will be windy with gusts of up to 50 mph possible. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Saturday is then looking nice with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of sprinkles. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Monday, rain will be likely, and it could be heavy at times, as a strong disturbance passes to our north, bringing warm southerly winds to our area . It will be warm, with highs in the 60’s to low 70’s.

Tuesday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Wednesday there will be a chance of rain, possibly starting as snow in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, as a disturbance approaches from the Southeastern United States, possibly developing into a Nor’easter along the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.

Next Thursday April 16th, and next Friday, April 17th, are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the 40’s next Thursday and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Friday.

Next Saturday, April 18th, clouds will increase with a chance of a shower at night as a stationary front may develop near our area. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Sunday, April 19th, through next Tuesday, April 21st, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower each day as a stationary front may develop near our area. Highs will be in the 50’s next Sunday and Tuesday and the mid 50’s to low 60’s next Monday.

Next Wednesday is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 50’s to low 60’s.
