Tuesday, April 28, 2020 - Evening Weather Discussion

Heavy rain and strong wind Thursday into Friday could lead to flooding and power outages in parts of our area...

Tomorrow there will be a chance of showers, especially at night, as a strong disturbance slowly approaches from the west. It will become windy in Eastern PA, with gusts up to 45 mph possible in Northeastern PA. Highs will be in the 50’s.

Thursday, there will be a chance of showers, and possibly a thunderstorm in the afternoon or especially at night as a strong disturbance passes through our area. The rain could be heavy at times at night. It will become windy during the day, especially in Eastern PA and Western NJ, with gusts there up to 60 mph possible. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s.

Friday there will be a chance of showers, and possibly a thunderstorm in the morning. The rain could be heavy at times in the morning. Windy, especially in Eastern NJ, Southeastern NY State, NYC, on Long Island and in Fairfield County, CT, with gusts up to 50 mph possible. Highs will be in the 60’s to low 70’s.

The could be total rainfall amounts of 1.5-3 inches in Eastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, which could very well lead to some flooding. In addition, winds could gust up to 60 mph in parts of these same areas, so there could be some power outages.

Saturday and Sunday are then looking quite nice with highs in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s Saturday and the 60’s to low 70’s Sunday.

Monday, there will be a chance of showers in the morning as a weak disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Next Tuesday, May 5th, will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 50’s to low 60’s.

Next Wednesday, May 6th, there will be a chance of showers as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 50’s.

Next Thursday, May 7th, and next Friday, May 8th, are then looking mostly sunny with highs in the 50’s.

Next Saturday, May 9th, there will be a chance of showers as another disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 50’s.

Next Sunday, May 19th, and next Monday, May 20th, will then be variably cloudy with highs in the 50’s next Sunday and the mid 50’s to low 60’s next Monday.
