Wednesday, April 8, 2020 - Morning Weather Discussion

Lots of April showers the next two weeks and a blizzard in Northeastern New England tomorrow night into Friday morning…

There will be a lot of April showers the next two weeks as one disturbance after the other passes through our area and then a stationary front may develop. There will even be a blizzard in Central and Northern Maine on Friday where 1-2 feet of snow will fall as a Nor’easter develops off the coast of Maine.

Below is the latest snowfall map for Northeastern New England from the European model for tomorrow afternoon through Friday. Notice that it shows a large area with more than one foot of snow. Image courtesy WeatherBell Analytics. Click on the image to enlarge.

Today there will be a chance of sprinkles with highs in the upper 50’s and 60’s.

Tomorrow there will be rain likely, ending late in the day as a disturbance and cold front pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Friday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of sprinkles or a light rain as a Nor’easter spins off the Maine Coast, bringing a touch of moisture back into our area. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Sunday clouds will increase with rain developing at night as a strong disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to low 60’s.

Monday there will be rain, and it could be heavy at times in the morning as a strong disturbance passes to our north. Highs will be in the 60’s to low 70’s.

Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower, especially at night. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s.

Next Wednesday, April 15th, there will be a chance of rain in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Thursday, April 16th and next Friday, April 17th, are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.
