Saturday, May 23, 2020 - Daily Weather Discussion

Heavy rain and maybe even some thunderstorms in parts of our area today and nice, but cool tomorrow/Memorial Day…

The strong disturbance that brought the severe flooding to the Mid-Western United States and then moved into the Southeastern United States is now passing through our area, bringing heavy rain and even some thunderstorms to parts of our area. The rain will end this evening as the disturbance departs our area. Highs today will be in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of a sprinkle near the coast early in the morning. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s (lowest temperatures along the coast and on Eastern Long Island).

Memorial Day will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower in the morning as a weak disturbance passes to our north. Highs will be in the 60’s to low 70’s (lowest temperatures along the coast and on Eastern Long Island).

Tuesday and Wednesday will then be nice with highs in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s Tuesday and the upper 60’s to mid 70’s Wednesday (lowest temperatures along the coast and on Long Island).

Thursday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s (lowest temperatures along the coast and on Long Island).

Friday will be mostly cloudy with showers or thunderstorms likely as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Next Saturday, May 30th, through next Thursday, June 4th, will be variably cloudy with at least a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day, except possibly next Sunday. Highs will be in the 70’s next Saturday through Monday and the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Tuesday through Thursday.

Next Friday, June 5th, is then looking nice with highs in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.
