It will be unsettled in our area through at least Wednesday as a disturbance is stalled out just south of our area and is funneling warm and moist air into our area. The best chance for showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe, will be Wednesday, as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will rise from the mid 70’s to mid 80’s today through Sunday, to the upper 70’s and 80’s Monday, and the 80’s to low 90’s Tuesday as warm air surges northward ahead of an approaching cold front, then drops back a bit to the upper 70’s and 80’s Wednesday with the showers and thunderstorms as the cold front approaches. Meanwhile, there will be record-breaking high temperatures in Maine, with highs in the mid 90’s in places today and tomorrow. Yesterday, the high temperature was one degree short of the all-time record high temperature in Caribou, in far Northern Maine, with a high of 95 degrees.
Thursday will be variably cloudy with just a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as some instability may develop in the cooler air behind the cold front. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.
Next Friday, June 26th, and next Saturday, June 27th, are then looking nice with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Friday and the 80’s next Saturday.
Next Sunday, June 28th, through next Tuesday, June 30th, are then looking variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be in the 80’s.
Next Wednesday, July 1st, is then looking variably cloudy with highs again in the 80’s.
Next Thursday, July 2nd, is looking variably cloudy with just a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the 80’s to low 90’s.
