Wednesday, June 24, 2020 - Daily Weather Discussion

Hot Saturday with chance of shower/thunderstorm at night and watching the Saharan Dust Storm as it spreads across the Eastern United States…

A Saharan Dust Storm has made its way across the Atlantic Ocean and is now moving through the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico and is starting to reach the Southeastern United States. This area of  dust high up in the atmosphere will be moving through the South Central and Southeastern United States over the next few days, possibly reaching our area this weekend. Today through Friday will be nice with highs in the upper 70’s and 80’s today and the upper 70’s to mid 80’s tomorrow and Friday.

Saturday, clouds will increase with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm at night as a cold front approaches our area. It will be hot, with highs in the mid 80’s to mid 90’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a bit of instability may develop in the slightly cooler air behind the cold front. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Monday through next Saturday, July 4th, are then looking nice with highs in the 80’s Monday, the upper 70’s to mid 80’s Tuesday and next Wednesday, July 1st, and in the 80’s next Thursday, July 2nd through next Saturday, July 4th.

Next Sunday, July 5th, and next Monday, July 6th, will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Sunday and in the 80’s next Monday.

Next Tuesday, July 7th, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the 80’s.
