Friday, July 24, 2020 - Daily Weather Discussion

Getting hot again Sunday through Tuesday, especially Monday, then cooler, but watching Tropical Storm Gonzalo with much interest…

Tropical Storm Gonzalo has developed in the Western Atlantic and is heading towards the Caribbean Sea where it will develop into a hurricane. Gonzalo will continue heading west, then may very well turn more northward, possibly threatening Florida next Sunday and Monday (9-10 days from now), before turning northward up the East Coast, potentially threatening our area with its remnants next Wednesday (about 12 days from now).  Click here for the latest on Tropical Storm Gonzalo from the National Hurricane Center…

The rest of today there will be a chance of a shower or sprinkle, especially in southern portions of Central NJ, with clearing late in the day or in the evening. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to low 80’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or sprinkle. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Sunday and Monday will then be nice, but it will warm up Sunday with highs in the upper 80’s to mid 90’s, and will be hot on Monday, with highs in the 90’s.

Tuesday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm as a cold front approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 80’s to mid 90’s.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm during the day, with clearing at night, as the cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Thursday through next Saturday, August 1st are then looking nice with highs in the 80’s.

Next Sunday, August 2nd, through next Tuesday, August 4th, are then looking variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day.  Highs will be in the 80’s.

Next Wednesday, August 5th, is then looking mostly cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms, possibly heavy at times, and it could be windy, as the remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo could affect our area. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Next Thursday, August 6th, is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, as the remnants of Gonzalo may be departing our area. Highs will be in the 80’s.
