Hurricane Isaias or the remnants of Hurricane Isaias will affect our area Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning…

Hurricane Isaias is currently approaching the Bahamas and will pass through the Bahamas today and tomorrow morning. Isaias will likely make landfall in Southern Florida late Saturday, Isaias will then move northward through the Florida Peninsula Sunday and early Monday, possibly moving offshore and making a second landfall Monday night along the South Carolina Coast. Tuesday and early Wednesday, Isaias or the remnants of Isaias will then continue northeastward along the East Coast of the United States Tuesday and Wednesday. This track will bring heavy rain to the entire East Coast of the United States, with rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches likely in our area, which could cause some flooding. Today we will have showers and possibly a thunderstorm, ending late in the day as a disturbance rides along a stalled front near our area. Some of the rain could be heavy at times in Central NJ and on Long Island. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.  

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with highs in the 80’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a disturbance passes north of our area. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Monday will be variably cloudy with afternoon or evening showers or thunderstorms as Isaias or the remnants of Isaias approach our area. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s.

Tuesday showers or thunderstorms will be likely, possibly heavy at times as Isaias or the remnants of Isaias pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Wednesday there will be a chance of showers or thunderstorms, possibly heavy at times early in the morning, ending late in the day as Isaias or the remnants of Isaias depart our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Thursday through next Saturday, August 8th, are then looking nice with highs in the mid 70’s to low 80’s Thursday and Friday, rising to the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday, August 9th, through next Thursday, August 13th, are then looking variably cloudy with just a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be mainly in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.
