Saturday, July 25, 2020 - Daily Weather Discussion

Gradual warming today and tomorrow and then HOT Monday and Tuesday before cooling down again, and then watching a potential hurricane…

We need to keep a close eye on a couple of disturbances that have just moved into the Eastern Atlantic, off the coast of Africa. One of these disturbances may very well develop into a hurricane as it heads west and could eventually threaten the United States, somewhere from the Gulf of Mexico to the Carolinas in about 9-10 days. Click here to view the latest from the National Hurricane Center. The disturbances to watch will be the one with the yellow x or the one moving off the African Coast right now, just behind it.  Yesterday, I had mistakenly said it was Gonzalo we need to watch. Gonzalo will die out.

Today will be variably cloudy with just a slight chance of a shower, thunderstorm, or sprinkle. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Tomorrow and Monday will be nice, but it will get increasingly hot with highs tomorrow in the mid 80’s to mid 90’s and in the 90’s Monday.

Tuesday, clouds will increase with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm as a cold front approaches from the west. Highs will be in the upper 80’s and 90’s.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Thursday through next Sunday, August 2nd, are then looking nice with highs in the 80’s to low 90’s Thursday, dropping to the 80’s next Friday through Sunday.

Next Monday, August 3rd, will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front and the hurricane, or remnants of the potential hurricane may start approaching our area. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Next Tuesday, August 4th, through next Friday, August 7th, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the 80’s.
