Sunday, July 5, 2020 - Daily Weather Discussion

Chances for showers/thunderstorms nearly every day for the next two weeks, especially next weekend…

We will have a chance of showers or thunderstorms nearly every day for the next two weeks, especially next weekend as a disturbance will develop in the Southeastern United States and then turn northeastward up the East Coast at the same time that a disturbance approaches from the west. These two disturbances may merge along the East Coast, bringing us an enhanced chance for showers or thunderstorms Friday through next Monday, as the disturbance may move quite slowly.

The rest of today there will be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm in Central NJ. Highs will range from the 80’s on Long Island to the mid 90’s in West Central NJ.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will range from the 80’s on Long Island to the mid 90’s in East Central PA and West Central NJ.

Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm at any time. Highs will range from the 70’s on Long Island to the mid to upper 80’s in East Central PA.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, especially in the afternoon or evening. Highs will be in the 80’s to low 90’s.

Thursday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the mid 80’s to low 90’s.

Friday through next Monday, July 13th, are then looking mostly cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms as a disturbance will develop in the Southeastern United States mid-week and then start moving up the East Coast. This disturbance may then combine with a disturbance that will be approaching from the west, causing it to slow down, giving us a chance of showers or thunderstorms Friday through next Monday. Highs will gradually drop from mid 80’s to low 90’s Friday, to the 80’s to low 90’s Saturday, and the 80’s next Sunday and Monday.

Next Tuesday, July 14th, is then looking variably cloudy, but rain-free, with highs in the 80’s.

Next Wednesday, July 15th, through next Saturday, July 18th, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm every day, especially in the afternoon or evening. Highs will be in the 80’s next Wednesday and the mid 80’s to low 90’s next Thursday through Saturday.
