Thursday, July 16, 2020 - Daily Weather Discussion

Relatively cool today, a chance for showers or thunderstorms tomorrow, then a long-term heat wave possible in parts of our area…

Today will likely be the coolest day we will see for at least the next two weeks with just a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm and highs only in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

There will be an increased chance for showers or thunderstorms during the day tomorrow, especially in the morning, as a weak disturbance passes through our area. Highs will range from the mid to upper 70’s on Eastern and Central Long Island and in Eastern Fairfield County, CT, to the mid to upper 80’s in West Central NJ.

Then Saturday through next Tuesday, July 28th, are looking variably cloudy with at least a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day, except this coming Sunday. The best chance for showers or thunderstorms will be Monday and especially Wednesday. Highs will range from the low to mid 80’s on Eastern Long island to the low to mid 90’s in West Central NJ every day, except for Monday when highs could possibly reach the upper 90’s in parts of inland Central NJ.

Next Wednesday, July 29th, is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, and it will be a bit cooler, with highs in the 80’s.
