The eye of Isiaias is going to pass right over our area tomorrow evening, bringing heavy rain and strong wind to our area…
The eye of Isiaias will make landfall near the South/North Carolina border this evening, then will pass through Eastern North Carolina, tonight, Southeastern Virginia tomorrow morning, the Delmarva around midday tomorrow, very near Philadelphia and Trenton tomorrow afternoon, through Northern NJ tomorrow evening, and Southeastern NY State tomorrow night. The heaviest rain will occur west of where the eye passes, and the strongest wind will occur east of where the eye passes. In our area, this means that the heaviest rain will be most likely to occur in East Central and Northeastern PA, with the strongest wind along the NJ Coast and on Long Island. Rainfall in most of the heaviest rainfall areas will be 2-3 inches, with the possibility of some isolated locations getting as much as 5 inches of rain. The strongest wind gusts will likely be 65-75 mph along the NJ Coast.

Today will be variably cloudy with showers developing tonight as Isiaias makes landfall near the South Carolina/North Carolina border. Highs will be in the 80’s to low 90’s.
Tomorrow, there will be rain, heavy at times in the afternoon and evening, ending at night. It will also be windy. Rainfall amounts will likely range from less than an inch near the coast and on Long Island to 1-3 inches inland, with the highest amounts most likely to occur in Eastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Orange County, NY, where 2-3 inches of rain will be likely, and possibly as much as 5 inches in some isolated locations. Winds will be the strongest in the afternoon and evening and will likely gust as high as 30-50 mph in East Central and Northeastern PA, 40-60 mph in Northwestern NJ, Orange, Rockland and Putnam Counties in NY, 50-70 mph in West Central and Northeastern NJ, Westchester County in NY, and Fairfield County in CT, 60-70 mph in NYC and on Long Island, and 65-75 mph along the NJ Coast. There will likely be flooding in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and in Orange County, NY, and there will likely be widespread power outages near the NJ Coast and on Long Island. Lows will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s, with highs in the 70’s to low 80’s.

Wednesday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.
Thursday and Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as a disturbance may develop near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s Thursday and in the mid 70’s to low 80’s Friday.
Saturday through next Monday, August 10th will then be nice with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s Saturday, and the low to mid 80’s Sunday and next Monday.
Next Tuesday, August 11th, through next Thursday, August 13th, are then looking variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s.
Next Friday, August 14th, through next Sunday, August 16th, are currently looking nice with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s
