Saturday, August 22, 2020 - Daily Weather Discussion

Warming up, but not as much as it looked yesterday, then watching the remnants of two tropical systems…

There are currently two tropical storms approaching the Gulf of Mexico. Both of these tropical systems will make landfall in either Texas or Louisiana, or both, Monday and Tuesday, probably at Tropical Storm strength. The remnants of these storms will likely combine with an approaching disturbance and cold front to bring us some showers or thunderstorms Friday into next Saturday morning.

Today through Thursday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm each day. It will be warm, but not as warm as it had looked yesterday, with highs in the 80’s in most places, although with some places reaching the low 90’s Tuesday and Thursday, and possibly only the upper 70’s in places Wednesday.

Friday clouds will increase with a chance of showers or thunderstorms developing as the remnants of the two tropical systems, a disturbance approaching from the west, and a cold front approach our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Next Saturday, August 29th, will be mostly cloudy during the day with a chance of showers or thunderstorms, followed by clearing as the cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Next Sunday, August 30th and next Monday, August 31st, will be variably cloudy and cooler with highs in the low to mid 70’s.

Next Tuesday, September 1st, will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Next Wednesday, September 2nd, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Next Thursday, September 3rd and next Friday, September 4th, will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.
