Slight chance of severe storms this evening, then next up is Isaias, which will bring heavy rain and strong wind to parts of our area…
There will be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm this evening. Some of the storms could be severe.
Tomorrow, clouds will increase in the afternoon and evening, with a chance of showers developing at night as Isaias moves northward, approaching the South Carolina Coast tomorrow night. Highs will be in the 80’s to low 90’s.
Tuesday, Isaias will make landfall near the South/North Carolina border early Tuesday morning, then will track northeastward through Eastern North Carolina, Southeastern Virginia, across the Delmarva, reaching the NJ Coast, and Western or Central Long Island by Tuesday night. This track will bring heavy rain and possibly some thunderstorms to our area. The rain will be heavy at times, especially at night. It will be windy with gusts up to 45 mph inland and 45-60 mph or higher near the coast and on Long Island. Some flooding is likely, with total rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches likely throughout our area, with localized amounts of over 5 inches possible. Highs will be in the 70’s to low 80’s.

Wednesday, Isaias will continue moving northward through Connecticut, Central Massachusetts, Southeastern New Hampshire, and Maine, causing the rain to stop early in the morning in our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.
Thursday, clouds will increase with a chance of showers developing at night as a disturbance may develop near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.
Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as a disturbance may be situated near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.
Saturday through next Monday, August 10th, are then looking nice with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s Saturday and the low to mid 80’s next Sunday and Monday.
Next Tuesday, August 11th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s.
Next Wednesday, August 12th, through next Saturday, August 15th, are then looking nice with highs in the low to mid 80’s.
