Thursday, August 6, 2020 - Daily Weather Discussion

Thankfully, a much quieter couple of weeks ahead…

Well, that was one heck of a storm. I was one of almost a million people without power in NJ. I lost power for 35 hours. The power went out at 12:08 pm on Tuesday as the eye wall reached my area. The power came back at 11 pm last night.  I live in a community of more than 2000 people and we have underground power lines, so losing power is not very common here. The damage was just too severe, with 1020 electrical poles being damaged and 30 miles of power lines, in my township alone.

Anyway, moving forward, a disturbance is developing along the Middle Atlantic Coast and will stick around our area until Saturday, bringing  a chance of a shower during the day today and then showers will be likely tonight. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy with showers likely, as the disturbance sits along the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the low to mid 70’s.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or sprinkle, especially early in the day, as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Sunday and Monday are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s Sunday and the 80’s Monday.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Next Thursday, August 13th, through next Saturday, August 15th, will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s next Thursday and Friday and in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday, August 16th, through next Tuesday, August 18th, will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.
