Major Nor’easter Possible Friday night and Saturday that could potentially bring very heavy rain and snow and strong wind…

A major Nor’easter will be possible Friday night and Saturday that could potentially bring very heavy rain and snow, and strong wind to our area as one disturbance in the Northern Jet Stream and another in the Southern Jet Stream may merge, forming a strong storm to form off the NJ Coast.

Today will be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower, flurry, or sprinkle, especially in Northeastern PA, where up to an inch of snowfall accumulation will be possible in far Northern PA. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 40’s.

Friday there will be increasing cloudiness in the morning, with rain developing in the late morning and afternoon, becoming heavy at times at night, as two disturbances approach our area, one in the Northern Jet Stream, and one in the Southern Jet Stream. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Saturday there will be rain, heavy at times in the morning, possibly changing to snow in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, and possibly mixing with snow in East Central PA, and in West Central and Northeastern NJ, before ending, as the storm may become quite strong, pulling cold air into our area. It will also become windy, with gusts up to 50 mph possible. Significant snowfall accumulations are possible in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s, or colder, depending on exactly how this storm develops.

Sunday through next Sunday, December 10th, are then looking nice with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s Sunday and Monday, the mid 30’s to low 40’s Tuesday, the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Wednesday, the 40’s next Thursday, the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Friday, and the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Saturday and Sunday.

Next Monday, December 11th, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance may pass through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Tuesday, December 12th, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the 30’s.
