Friday, February 5, 2021 - Daily Weather Discussion


Some snow this morning, a significant snowstorm likely Sunday, more unsettled weather Tuesday and then much colder with chances for snow…


There will be some rain and snow in our area this morning as a weak disturbance and cold front pass through our area. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.


Total possible snowfall accumulations:

 

A trace to an inch from east to west: Orange County, NY

 

A trace to an inch and a half from east to west:  Northwestern NJ

 

A half of an inch to 2 inches form east to west:  East Central and Northeastern PA


Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 20’s and 30’s.


Sunday, snow will develop early in the morning as two disturbance approach our area, one from the west in the Northern Jet Stream and one from the south in the Southern Jet Stream. These two disturbance will merge, forming a Nor’easter near the Middle Atlantic Coast. This will bring our area a chance of another significant snowfall. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Monday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the 20’s.


Tuesday, there will be rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet as two more disturbance approach our area, forming another Nor’easter but this time, possibly tracking right over us and bringing some warmer air into our area. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.


Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the 20’s to low 30’s.


Thursday clouds will increase late in the day as another disturbance approaches our area. Highs will be in the teens to mid 20’s.


Next Friday, February 12th, there will be a slight chance of snow as a disturbance may pass near our area. Highs will be in the teens to low 20’s.


Next Saturday, February 13th, will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid teens to mid 20’s.


Next Sunday, February 14th, through next Tuesday, February 16th there will be a slight chance of snow each day. Highs will be in the low to mid 20’s next Sunday, the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Monday, and the upper 20’s to mid 30’s next Tuesday.


Next Wednesday, February 17th and next Thursday, February 18th, are then looking nice with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.
